Termite Control

Your Guide to Termites in Northeast Florida

Termites are one of the most destructive pests in Northeast Florida, causing billions in property damage nationwide every year. These wood-destroying insects live in large colonies, often hidden from sight, and can silently damage the structure of your home or business before you even know they’re there.

Once termites gain access, they don’t stop at wood. They can also damage drywall, paper, carpet, and other materials containing cellulose. Early detection and year-round protection are key to avoiding costly repairs.

Know Your Termites: Species Common in Florida

Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termites are the most common and destructive species in the U.S., responsible for roughly 95% of all termite damage. They live in underground colonies and build mud tunnels to reach above-ground food sources.
These termites require moisture to survive and are commonly found in wood, insulation, drywall, and even foam materials. Signs of an infestation may include bubbling paint, discarded wings, or mud tubes along your foundation.

Drywood Termites

Drywood termites live entirely within dry wood and require no contact with the soil. They often infest attic beams, hardwood floors, or furniture and can go undetected for years.
Florida is home to three common drywood termite species, including the Light Southeastern Drywood Termite, the most damaging type in our region. Because these termites nest directly in wood, they often create internal damage long before any surface signs appear.
