Empty Cabinets and Drawers Where Needed
Emptying cabinets and drawers gives German cockroaches fewer places to hide during the treatment. Doing so ensures the technician can reach all the way into back corners where these pesky creatures often sit.
Start with the cabinets closest to sinks and food areas, then move through the rest of the kitchen and bathroom. Place your dishes and pantry items in sealed tubs or boxes and move them to a room the technician won’t need to access.
Wipe down the cleared surfaces thoroughly to ensure the treatment reaches every edge and corner.
Remove Countertop Items and Declutter Problem Zones
German roaches hide behind small appliances and slip into cluttered corners where they can find warmth and moisture. Removing stored items on your countertops and clearing away the clutter gives your tech the necessary space to treat the surfaces where cockroaches hide, often helping you see results sooner.

- Piles of papers, bags, or boxes. Stacked clutter can make it harder to treat hidden problem zones.
Reduce Food and Water Sources
German cockroaches need two things to survive: food and water. Cutting off their supply to those things makes it easier for the treatment to do its job and prevents new cockroaches from infesting.
Store all food in airtight containers, including pet food—cockroaches aren’t selective when it comes to a meal.
Wipe down counters, sweep up crumbs, and rinse any dirty dishes. If you can, deal with any leaks present under sinks. Empty the coffee maker’s water tray, and move the pet bowls.
Line your bins and take out trash before the technician arrives.
Ensure Easy Technician Access
To get the best results, the treatment needs to reach deep into the cracks and crevices where cockroaches nest. Giving your technician access to areas behind appliances, inside storage cabinets, and along baseboards helps ensure nothing is missed.
