Subterranean Termites (Order Isoptera) are approximately a ¼ inch long and live in underground colonies from which they build tunnels in search of food.
The food of subterranean termites consists of anything made of or containing cellulose, they feed primarily on dead wood and wood by-products. In search of food they will damage a lot of non-cellulose materials like sheetrock, insulators, form and more.
Nationwide termites cause billions in damages each year and subterranean termites cause 95% of all the damages. Subterranean termites need moisture for survival, so as a precaution eliminate moisture problems around your home by fixing leaks and water damage.
